What to Expect

Seeing Dr. Mahar for the First Time

New Patient Paperwork

Katie will help you fill out your paperwork.

When you first visit Kenmore Chiropractic, you’ll spend about 30-60 minutes with us. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff will get to know a bit more about you and help you fill out your new patient paperwork, which shouldn’t take long if you print and fill out what you can of your New Patient Forms┬ábefore you arrive. You’ll also discuss paying for your care and learn about the payment options that are available to you.

From there, you’ll spend some time with Dr. Mahar during your initial consultation. Together, you’ll discuss your goals for care and learn a bit more about how chiropractic can help you reach your goals. Then, Dr. Mahar will conduct a full exam, so he can learn more about how your body is functioning and what type of care you’ll need. If necessary, he’ll take X-rays to get a better view of any problems.

“Then I like to let the healing begin,” Dr. Mahar says. You’ll receive your first adjustment during this appointment, unless there is a compelling reason to wait.

As Your Care Progresses

Initially, it will probably take three to nine visits to relieve your pain. This is not necessarily a full correction of the problem, but will have you feeling considerably better. Continued follow up care can help you stay free from pain and address the underlying causes of issues you may not have even known you had.

Once you are conscious of your central nervous system and its role in your overall health, you’ll be amazed at how common it is to have problems because of its dysfunction, even when you feel no pain.

Your breathing, digestion, skin vitality, sinuses, and sleep can all suffer when there is even a minor disruption in your nervous system. With chiropractic care, you will see improvement in many if not all of these areas.

Next Steps

Dr. Mahar will reevaluate you about every three visits, to monitor your progress, make any necessary adjustments to your care plan, and uncover any potential problems before they arise.

He’ll also provide you with exercises you can do at home to make your care more effective and make the results longer lasting.
